Building on California’s robust laws and strategies to reduce crime and protect communities, Governor Newsom signed into law a legislative package to further crack down on property and retail crime. Prosecutors Alliance Action Executive Director Cristine Soto DeBerry was on hand for the landmark bill signing. Among the 10 bills signed into law was SB 1144 by Senator Nancy Skinner and sponsored by PAA. This new law will regulate online marketplaces to ensure that individuals cannot sell stolen goods online.
